In these times, remember to call out to your ancestors of blood, spirit, and place for support. They are there whether or not you’ve interacted with them before.
Your ancestors of blood were born, worked, loved, lost, and tried to put themselves back together again before they died and the hardships they faced and how they overcame them are in our DNA.
The ancestors of spirit can inspire beauty in the face of ugliness, strength in the face of insurmountable challenges, hope in the face of the darkest places without light, and paths forward in the face of the crumbling tower we find ourselves in if you call on them.
The ancestors of place are all around us in the air we breathe, the land we stand on, and the trees and plants we live amongst. They can also provide support if you call on them.
Right now, we can become the future ancestors others look back on and gain strength, inspiration, hope, and ways forward if we look back at those who came before for support so we can make sure others can carry on around us now and in the years to come.
So turn to your ancestors of blood, spirit, and place for the support you need to provide support for yourself and others and thank them for the gifts they provide that we can some day (even today) give back to others.
